There has been a lot of noise around the launch of Google Glass this week an augmented reality head-mounted display; Glass products display information in smartphone-like format. Google have yet to say how much the device will cost or when it will be available. Potential ‘Explorer’ early-adopters have to apply in 50 words or less, including a short video and five photographs, to explain why they would be the best testers.
They will then have to order a $1,500 Project Glass ‘Explorer’ kit and attend the pick up in New York, LA or San Francisco in person. ‘We’re looking for bold, creative individuals who want to join us and be a part of shaping the future of Glass, said Google.
It certainly looks impressive but 3D TV has already shown some of the issues with devices that require the user to wear them. Some early critics point to the attractiveness of the product “Just line up the ladies” said one while others feel that it would lead to information overload; a constant stream of consciousness!
